Information for international students

All instruction is in English, so international students must be proficient in that language. As we are an online university, international students who are not residing in the United States are expected to undertake studies in their home countries. We do not offer student visas to study in the United States. We sincerely believe that the traditional American Dream of Entrepreneurship is shared by people throughout the world. Consequently, we welcome international students to come with us and Dare to Dream!

One of the best ways to get started quickly with us and to determine whether we will be a good fit for you, is to enroll as a non-degree seeking student. As described on the Application Forms page, that requires a simple one page application, and you can enroll in your first course. As you take courses and find that we are the right school for you, then you can begin to complete the appropriate degree application form. Getting the information from international sources can be time consuming, so this strategy allows you to use the time to good effect. When you are accepted as a degree seeking student, you will be able to transfer all of the credit that you earned as a non-degree seeker.

Undergraduate Study

We require all of our undergraduate students to complete about 90 semester hours of work in general education and business supporting courses at other institutions. You must have completed at least 30 semester hours of such work prior to applying for admission to Carland College. If you have completed this work in a U.S. College, then we will require a transcript from that school. If you have completed this work in an international college, then we will require that you provide an official credential evaluation by an agency which is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. Normally, the evaluation will be sufficient and original transcripts will not be required. If English is not your native language, we will require copies of your test scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language.
